I dare say many more won't.

What you mean there are a small elite who take it upon themselves to make decisions for all of us? Surely not? I mean we are told we live in one of the only true democratic countries?
And besides, there is just no way that internet could ever be used to allow us to vote on a lot more issues. I think we need more MPs. I mean only 600? Then another few 100 sitting in Brussels "representing" our views and desires.
I voted in the 1970s for a common market to ease trade and form closer links to Europe. I was only too happy to see Europe's influence grow under successive governments without being asked.. Why would I care if 70% of decisions and laws are made in Brussels?
Its so good to know that the elite in our society, educated in a handful of schools, still represent us all. Its not like they have close links to the owners of large corporations and are promised jobs with them for favours ?

As an ex-lawyer, I would say that the fact that they practise (or have practised) law gives them no more right to say what the nation should or should not do than any other citizen.
On the contrary, they seem to have shown a phenomenal lack of insight in making this joint statement, which was bound to result in the sort of derision already expressed in this thread.

A hotel in Hartingdon says it will "limit" after complaints, 40 of this lot PER NIGHT paying £40 each ( well we the taxpayers are) per night
And in Germany theyve just worked out that 75% of this current influx are in fact economic migrants from the balkans, none of whom can speak german, have any work skills and now they want to send them back.

I think we should take in more refugees but they should be relocated to the richer parts of the country such as "Daves" constituency then we will see what the lawyers and judges have to say then when the local infrastructure is over run by mass immigration. Bet the stance will soon fucking change.

Before I'd even opened the thread I was thinking just the same thing.
OK for the privileged ones who won't so much as even realise the difference, as it makes none whatsoever to their lives, in their lovely big paid for houses. In fact it probably helps them as it's someone to employ cheaply to do their shopping, clean their house and drive them around in private vehicles.
Won't affect their private medical care, private schooling for their children or anything.

The thing that makes sense for the UK to do, given that we have no space, but money, is to give money to help them settle in countries where there is an abundance of space for them to live in.
We are already stretched to breaking point.

Which is why the Govt have huge issues sending them back. They keep mounting legal challenges until they find some judge sympathetic to their case and win.
